GreatMountain Farm Report

An early May sunset.

While most folks check in to our website to see what's happening with our Chinook dogs, we wanted a place to showcase the wonderful world that unfolds around us every day at GreatMountain Farm.  We are blessed to have 120 acres of mixed woods and fields.  We mark each season by the changes at the farm and thought you might like to experience them as well.  So, sit back and enjoy the GreatMountain Farm Report - a regular report about the world around us.  Unless otherwise noted, Penthea Burns is entitled to credit for the phenomenal photos on these pages - Jess is only responsible for editing and publishing them to the website!

April 22nd-May 6th - Spring has sprung in Maine!  The air is finally warm, the grass is growing like crazy, the trees are all budding out and flowers are starting to appear!  The spring orchestra is fully tuned and we're serenaded each evening by a variety of beautiful bird songs, turkey gobbles, tree frog peeps and bull frog growls.  It's sometimes louder than being in New York City if you can believe it!  We hope you enjoy some photos that that spring is finally here!
